  • Redesigned hardware of proprietary lock controller for public release.

    • Design validated; 500 units ordered from manufacturer by end-of-term.

    • Included: comprehensive analysis of existing schematic and PCB design, implementation of new driver upgrades, firmware support to embedded software code-base (including build environment), a complete redesign of the PCB layout, and manual board population & testing.

  • Embedded development improving existing projects & adding additional features.

  • Created a new company-wide version-controlled PCB component library.

CONTROLS DESIGNER CO-OP (R&D)

January - April 2020

Clearpath Robotics Inc. - Kitchener, ON

  • Main areas of focus: prototyping assembly of new electro-mechanical systems; drafting and updating electrical schematics; updating and testing new features in PLCs; developing and commissioning robot software (ROS & Linux); test plan development and implementation; and sourcing, testing, and validation of new electrical components.

  • Improved network communication speed & reliability between robot’s real-time system (PLC) and Core (PC running ROS).

  • Successfully assembled and tested a new robot used for long-term prototype testing.

  • Installed, commissioned, optimized, repaired, and maintained network infrastructure (Government radio, Dispatch Centre, solar, paging, HSPA, LTE, 5G, WTTP, microwave, kiosks, and in-building).

  • Excelled at analyzing and interpreting radio frequency propagation / interference, performing signal analysis via FFT, RTWP, RSRP, RSRQ, and PRB levels.

  • Successfully implemented a new navigation system for field technicians to optimize fleet movement.
